TERMS & CONDITIONS

Every tattoo we create is a collaboration between artist and client. These Terms and Conditions outline how we work at Golden West Tattoo, where we focus on honouring the art of tattooing and ensuring the safety and security of both our clients and our artists. By submitting a booking enquiry through our website or using our services, you verify that you've read and agree to these terms.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to receive tattoo services at Golden West Tattoo. Valid photo identification is required at your appointment (driver's license, passport, or Proof of Age card).
     

    While NSW law permits tattooing of minors under 18 with parental or guardian consent, Golden West Tattoo will not provide tattoo services to anyone under 18 years of age under any circumstances. This is a studio policy and we reserve the right to refuse service based on age concerns.
     

    A tattooist may refuse service if they have concerns you may be under 18.

  • We provide free consultations to discuss tattoo ideas, placement, and sizing. You can specify in the booking enquiry form whether you are requesting a consultation only or booking an appointment. We do not provide custom designs or drawings without a confirmed booking and paid deposit.

  • BOOKING PROCESS:
     

    Your appointment is confirmed once you've paid the required deposit and received written confirmation from us.

    ARTIST COMMITMENT:
     

    Your artist has committed their time exclusively to you (from a few hours to a full day) and has turned away other clients for your time slot.

    ​

    TIMELY ARRIVAL:
     

    Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may result in shortened sessions or rescheduling, and excessive lateness may result in deposit forfeiture.

  • DEPOSIT AMOUNT:
     
    A deposit of $100-$200 is required to secure your appointment (amount depends on tattoo size and complexity).

    All deposits are non-refundable and will be deducted from your total cost on the day of your appointment.
     
    PAYMENT METHODS:
     
    Deposits can be paid via cash (in person), PayID or bank transfer. Your appointment will not be confirmed until 

    Important: Your appointment is not secured or confirmed until we have received and acknowledged your deposit payment.

    FINAL PAYMENTS:
     

    The remaining balance must be paid in full on the day of your appointment (cash, card, PayID, or bank transfer accepted).

  • RESCHEDULING:

    If you need to reschedule your appointment, you must provide at least 72 hours notice
    ​
    • 72+ hours notice: Deposit transfers to your new appointment date
    • Less than 72 hours notice: Deposit is forfeited
    To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided below.​​

    CANCELLATIONS:

    If you choose to cancel your appointment entirely:
     

    • Deposits are non-refundable but can be put towards a future tattoo booking (subject to availability)

    • Deposits will be forfeited and cannot be used for future bookings if you:

      • Cancel with less than 72 hours notice

      • Fail to show up to your appointment (no-show)

      • Are refused service due to reasons outlined in Artist's Right to Refuse Service

  • By proceeding with a tattoo, you confirm that you:
     
    • Are not a hemophiliac
    • Do not have diabetes, epilepsy, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, or other communicable diseases
    • Are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    • Are not taking blood-thinning medications
    • Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
    • Do not have medical conditions that may affect the procedure or healing
       
    Important: Golden West Tattoo staff are not medical professionals. Consult your doctor if you have health concerns before getting a tattoo.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service for:
     

    • Health and safety concerns (intoxication, medical conditions, poor hygiene, appearing unwell)

    • Inability to verify you're 18+ years old

    • Rude, violent, aggressive, or unprofessional behaviour

    • Designs that violate professional or ethical standards

    • Unrealistic expectations
       

    Refusals due to client behaviour, intoxication, or false information result in deposit forfeiture.
  • By getting a tattoo with us, you acknowledge:
     
    • Allergic Reactions: We cannot determine if you'll have an allergic reaction to inks or pigments. You accept all associated risks.
    • Infection Risk: Infection is possible if you don't follow aftercare instructions. You agree to follow all instructions we provide.
    • Aftercare: You've received and understood aftercare instructions. Touch-ups needed due to your negligence will be at your expense.
    • Design Approval: You've checked and approved all spelling, grammar, design, and placement. It's your responsibility to ensure everything is correct before we begin.
    • Permanence: Tattoos are permanent. We make no promises about your ability to change or remove your tattoo later.
    • Voluntary Consent: Getting a tattoo is your choice alone, and you consent to the procedure.
    • Photography: We may ask to photograph your tattoo for social media and promotional use. You can decline or withdraw consent anytime.​​
  • Custom designs created by our artists remain our intellectual property. If you provide your own design, you warrant you have the right to use it and it doesn't infringe copyrights. We won't reproduce copyrighted characters, logos, or other artists' work without authorisation.

  • You release Golden West Tattoo, its owners, employees, and artists from any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from your tattoo, the procedure, failure to follow aftercare, allergic reactions, or dissatisfaction with results.
     

    Our maximum liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service. This doesn't exclude rights under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.

  • By submitting a booking enquiry or proceeding with services, you confirm you've read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions, meet all requirements, and accept all associated risks.
  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by New South Wales law.

    We may update these terms at any time. Continued use means you accept changes. If you have disputes, please contact us first to resolve informally.
